Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year.  The staff, school community, and myself feel that you have found the greatest place on earth to learn!   We have approximately 730 students at American Elementary.

My name is Charles Riley.  My job is to assist Mrs. Stevens in anything that may be needed so that we continue to do "Whatever It Takes" to ensure that our students are safe, productive learners while they spend their day with us.  This may include helping students with peer conflict, helping students to make appropriate choices, and assisting in placing them in learning environments they will thrive in.  I have a passion for education and helping students.  I think a great friend of mine states it best when she says, "You have a real problem solving mentality."  I love to help students learn, solve problems, and SUCCEED!

You will see me very visible around campus.  Please do not hesitate to say, "Hi" or stop by my office and introduce yourself.  If there are any problems that I can help you resolve, please do not hesitate to call me.   I am here to serve the students.
