First and foremost, I would like to welcome everyone to Rosedale Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. I recognize the enormous shoes I am filling by being principal at such a prestigious institution, full of history, success, and achievement for young adolescents. This year, we are looking forward to continuing our community school outreach. We want our students, families, teachers/staff, and partners in the community to look at RMS with pride. Many members of our community have gone to Rosedale Middle and have good memories here, and we want to continue to invest in our future by welcoming all in our community to participate in this school year with RMS. I cannot thank you all enough for your support and kindness, and I'm excited to start the school year ready to serve our students and community.
That being said, let me take a minute to give you a little of my background. I have been in education for 19 years, most of that time being spent in the classroom as a 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts teacher. I taught at our sister school, Freedom Middle, for a number of years and moved over to RMS, where I have spent the majority of my tenure, and I have loved every minute. I served as a Vice Principal at RMS until this year when I was offered my dream job, to serve as Principal. And I could not be more excited to start.
Rosedale Middle will welcome back students starting August 17th. Our teachers are committed to preparing students for success, and fostering growth both academically and socially, and they are ready to get started welcoming students. We have the best staff of educators here at RMS, well-trained and prepared for the classroom. We are ready to work and look forward to meeting all the new students this year! Thank you so much for entrusting your most valuable treasures with us. We are ready to serve them.
Sincerely,
Kevin Turner
Principal
