Yesterday at the Rosedale Union School District board meeting, Centennial Elementary was highlighted. Mrs. Tindell gave a presentation on all of the amazing things that are happening this year. She talked about our new activity leaders and the work they are doing. She explained how teachers are focused on engagement in the classrooms. She also mentioned all of the amazing events our PTC puts on throughout the year. Frank, our student council president, also gave a presentation on the many activities that students can participate in here at Centennial. There are many people who work hard to make this the best place for our CUBS!

Today is National Custodian Day and we would like to recognize some pretty fabulous people. A big thank you goes out to Petra, David, and Culhain for taking such good care of us here at Centennial. We appreciate you!!

Tonight our Centennial PTC put on a free family movie night. It was so lovely to see our CUB families hang out under the stars and enjoy a movie together!

More photos from 6th Grade's Camp KEEP week!

Centennial's 6th Graders made it home safely this afternoon after a week at Camp KEEP. It was a week of making life long memories as students got to hike, experience wildlife, sing songs, and learn all about our coastal environment. Many thanks to all of the chaperons and teachers who helped make this an incredible experience for our CUBS!

Last week some of our younger Centennial Cubs got to have fun at the Kern County Fair! Mrs. Pinon's class enjoyed all of the sights on Special Friends Day.

Mrs. Dean’s First Grade Class wrapped up a unit on apples by enjoying some apple pie, apple sauce, and apple juice!

And they are off!! Centennial's 6th Graders are headed to Camp KEEP this week. Parents and families waved as our CUBS left for a week at the beach where their days will be filled with hikes and lessons all about the environment. Many thanks to our teachers and families who have made this memory making week possible.

Shiver me timbers! Did you know that September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day? Our Kindergarten set sail for a day of adventure with fun centers and activities. They built pirate ships and tested to see if they would sink or float. It was an arrrrrrsome day!

This week our PAWSome Store opened up! Students have been working hard to earn tickets by following our P.A.W.S. Our store is open during lunch recess on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Check out our PAWSome Amazon wishlist to donate items to our store!

Centennial's POP Room has opened for the year! Students are invited to come in during lunch recess on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We have a variety of board games, art projects, legos, and even playdough for students to enjoy. POP stands for Power of Play. We know that it is important for students to have other spaces besides the playground to interact with each other.

Don't forget! Picture day is tomorrow, August 29th. Pictures can be ordered at Lifetouch. Our School Code is: EVTRD9P49

Today Centennial Elementary opened our gates and welcomed students for the 24-25 school year. We saw friends reunite, families celebrate new milestones, and teachers welcome new students to their classrooms. We hope that all of our CUBS had a fabulous first day of school!

Centennial CUBS got to meet their teachers this morning at Meet and Greet. We are super excited about the first day of school tomorrow!

More end of the year activities happening here at Centennial today! TK and Kindergarten students enjoyed some super centers out on the playground. 6th graders challenged parents and teachers to a game of kickball. Once again, they walked away in defeat. Good job parents and teachers!!

The end of the year celebrations continue as Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Davis' 5th grade classes enjoyed an ice cream sundae party on this beautiful morning.

Today we celebrated our 6th graders who are ready to leave Centennial and head off to Jr. High. Students had a blast playing outside with blowups, climbing tower, and yard games. They got to snack on unlimited sno cones and enjoy the candy bar. Thank you to our PTC and many parents who made this a special party for our 6th grade CUBS!
